The Cambridge Folk Festival this year is the weekend of 30th/31st July.

As normal, we shall be hosting dinner in the evening on the Saturday, from 7pm until 11. You don't have to be going to the folk festival to attend, but we would appreciate knowing if you're likely to come. All the usual attendees are, of course, specifically invited - please pass the word.

Obviously, with it being the folk festival, and the programme not being announced in advance, we can't know who will turn up when - it can be all in a lump if there is an obvious gap, or lots of people all evening (as one year when it was VERY WET, although we're not expecting that this year).

Joan and I will be attending the Folk Festival on the Sunday.

The Cambridge Folk Festival this year is the weekend of 1st August.

As normal, Joan and I will be hosting dinner in the evening on the Saturday, from 7pm until 11. You don't have to be going to the folk festival to attend, but we would appreciate knowing if you're likely to come.

Since neither Joan nor I got tickets for this year, and neither did some of our friends who normally go, we shall also be having open house on the Sunday, noon until evening. There will likely be left-overs from the night before. If the weather is nice we shall sit in the back garden. People who *are* attending the folk festival are also welcome to drop around. Again, some vague knowledge of who might turn up would be nice, but this is less important than for dinner.

As some of you may know already, we've just had a new kitchen fitted. This means that you probably will get told all about it (sorry), but it also means that there may be a bit more disorganization than normal - things aren't quite finished yet, and we've not got everything put into its new storage place.

The Cambridge Folk Festival is the weekend of 2nd August.

As normal, Joan and I will be hosting dinner in the evening on the Saturday, from 7pm until 11. You don't have to be going to the folk festival to attend, but we would appreciate knowing if you're likely to come.

The Cambridge Folk Festival is the last weekend in July, and on the Saturday we traditionally provide dinner between 7pm and 11pm. This year, the Saturday is the 27th July.

Obviously, with it being the folk festival, and the programme not being announced in advance, we can't know who will turn up when - it can be all in a lump if there is an obvious gap, or lots of people all evening (as one year when it was VERY WET, although we're not expecting that this year).

You don't need to be going to the folk festival to come, so other friends (and partners and children) are welcome as well. Thus it's very helpful (although not a requirement) if anyone who believes they will be coming could let us know in advance.

(I will be at the festival itself on Friday, and Joan and I will be there on Sunday. This year the younglings have decided not to go.)

The next WorldCon is Loncon3, which is in London in 2014. We will be going, and we assume that many ex-Jomsborg and ex-CUSFS members will also be going. So Joan suggested that we should organise a room-party. And including people from Joms-in-exile seems only fair.

Apparently, Loncon are planning to build individual rooms in the convention centre for "room parties", since it's a multi-hotel site. The proposed cost sounds fairly cheap, and they're also expecting to make food and drink available at supermarket-style prices. So this looks entirely feasible.

The only thing we need is some idea of how many people might turn up - it would be embarrassing to have one room for 50 people and have 5 (we think not likely!) or 200 people appear.

Therefore, if you are going to be at Loncon, and are likely to come to a Jomsborg/CUSFS/Joms-in-exile reunion party, could you please email me at

   joms <at> tibsnjoan.co.uk

It would also be interesting if you could say which group or groups you identify with, and roughly when (if it's Jomsborg or CUSFS).

I've got a page up at http://www.tibsnjoan.co.uk/joms.html with this same information, and if you'd like your name to be put up on that page as "may be attending", tell me that as well (I'll not put up anyone's name without an explicit request).

I haven't really done any work publicising this yet, but please feel free to tell others who might be interested.

The Cambridge Folk Festival is the last weekend in July, and on the Saturday we traditionally provide dinner between 7pm and 11pm. This year, the Saturday is the 28th July.

Obviously, with it being the folk festival, and the programme not being announced in advance, we can't know who will turn up when - it can be all in a lump if there is an obvious gap, or lots of people all evening (as one year when it was VERY WET).

You don't need to be going to the folk festival to come, so other friends (and partners and children) are welcome as well. However, if you're not one of the people who come every year, we'd appreciate knowing in advance so we have a better idea of numbers.

The Cambridge Folk Festival is this coming weekend. As normal, Joan is doing dinner on the Saturday, from 7pm - 11pm. The usual suspects are all welcome, whether you're actually going to the Folk Festival or not. Joan would, though, appreciate some idea of numbers if you are coming. There is always a vegetarian option - in fact, Joan points out the main course *will be* vegetarian (ask if you need vegan!).

It may be worth mentioning that our children are now away in Germany, and thus will not be present.

As normal, Joan shall be providing dinner on the Saturday evening of the Folk Festival.

Food will be available between 7pm and 11pm, including vegetarian food.

All the traditional attendees are invited, as well as anyone who knows us who feels it's appropriate (if you're not sure, ask, although I may need some help with LiveJournal names).

You don't actually have to be going to the folk festival - especially given the convention that clashes this year. However, given that, we'd appreciate some idea of who is likely to come (to help guesstimate amounts of food).

Note that neither of us will be at the Folk Festival on Saturday this year, so if you do read this, please spread the reminder to those who you know should be reminded. (We shall be at the Festival on Sunday).
